BASIC FUNCTION:
To direct, plan and implement all activities of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). outreach program. Reports to Dean, College of Arts and Sciences and Dean, College of Education, Health and Human Services.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provide vision and organization for the Office.
Coordinate and expand the STEM education and pipeline projects at KSU.
Seek funding and collaboration for new projects.
Generate knowledge to inform policy and practice.
Develop partnerships with government and education agencies as well as business and industry.
Ensure that the Office activities are targeted toward multiple populations, including members of groups underrepresented in STEM fields.
Promote the STEM Education Office engagement with students, teachers, families, communities, and schools from elementary through graduate education.
Work closely with the deans of the two colleges to promote development of interdisciplinary programs.
Serve as the primary representative for the STEM facility and ensure its coordinated and efficient use.
Write proposals to ensure continued support for major program initiatives and ensure programmatic oversight of all funding.
Strengthen relationships and establish new partnerships with K-12 Districts.
Help market the STEM Office to ensure a highly visible presence and positive reputation throughout the region.
Develop activities to increase interest and enrollment in STEM fields.
Perform related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral degree in a relevant field; six years relevant experience.License/Certification:
Valid Ohio Driver’s license.Knowledge Of:
