BASIC FUNCTION:

Manage and oversee the KSU Foundation investment in the hotel and conference center in Downtown Kent. Reports to Chief Financial Officer, KSU Foundation.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 
Interface with the hotel management firm on a regular basis to insure that all management / contractual requirements are met.

Market the hotel and conference center to the university and the broader business community in cooperation with the hotel staff.

Interact with university and advancement staff on a regular basis to market the hotel and manage all inquiries about facility use.

Advise the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and the Chief Financial Officer of the KSU Foundation on issues related to the management of the hotel.

Prepare reports on the financial performance of the hotel and conference center to be shared with the KSU Foundation leadership and university leadership.

Review proposed budget, marketing plans, and operating plans for the hotel and conference center.

Monitor property financial performance.

Present updates on hotel performance at the KSU Foundation Board of Directors meetings.

Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and five years of progressively responsible hotel management experience (including hotel operations, accounting/financial experience) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business Administration or Hotel Administration.
