BASIC FUNCTION:

To provide strategic planning and project management to Kent State Online, oversee strategic and special projects, and prepare presentations and reports as identified by the Associate Vice President, Kent State Online. Implement, maintain, and support technologies that improve the operational effectiveness of the unit. Serve as a primary advisor and liaison to the Associate Vice President on a variety of strategic initiatives, special projects, and assignments. Reports to the Associate Vice President, Kent State Online.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Establish and coordinate project intake, approval, prioritization, and review processes for the unit.

Serve as a key point of contact and/or leader/facilitator in planning and implementing large-scale strategic initiatives and special projects as directed by Associate VP, Kent State Online.

Serve as liaison with senior college administration, Student Affairs, Information Technology, and/or other offices/divisions as required.

Work collaboratively with the Associate Vice President, Kent State Online on strategic initiatives, special projects, and strategic planning for the unit.

Write business plans, develop project charters and plans, conduct business-related research and analysis.

Monitor budget and track expenses related to projects.

Serve as a leader/facilitator in planning and implementing technology to support and improve the business processes of the unit.

Functional owner/administrator and/or oversight of business technologies and Kent State Online university enterprise applications (Cognos, Xtender) for the unit.

Develop, run, and analyze various reports using a reporting tool (i.e., Cognos, Power BI).

Assist with vendor selection for educational and business technologies.

Serve on various university committees.

May supervise classified/unclassified staff and/or student employees as assigned.

Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters degree in business, communication, or relevant field with five years of relevant professional experience. Must have a working knowledge of university structure, budgeting, project planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education.
